Antique Kazak Rug - 3'11 x 5'9

675.00

Caucasian Kazak rug handwoven sometime between 1900-1925. Features a bold Lesghi star design on a (rare) black ground.  Woven in a limited color palette of browns, oranges, and ivories, with a few accent colors like green, yellow, and blue used throughout. This rug features protection symbols including some small swastikas. For Armenians this symbol signified eternity and eternal light and its use in this rug predates its adoption by the Nazi party in 1930s Germany. In excellent condition, signs of wear consistent with age.

Measures 3'11"x5'9".
