Vintage Nomadic Gabbeh Rug- 3'1 x 6'

575.00

Traditional tribal rug, handwoven in Southwest Iran in 1928. It features a thick, plush pile. The Gabbeh rug is marked by a neutral color palette, the result of natural, un-dyed wool. The local wool has been woven onto a strong goat's hair warp, which can be seen in the fringe. Simple and durable, this rug was woven for local use and has the number "1347" woven in farsi. The year 1347 in the islamic calendar translates to 1928. It is in excellent condition considering its age and use. Measures 3'1 x 6'
