This Afshar rug was handwoven during the third quarter of the 19th century in South Iran.

It features an all over pattern of flowering vines scrolling in a lattice like formation. The flowers are rendered in red and orange hues on an uncommon cobalt ground. In great condition for age with a full pile and deeply oxidized browns carved by nature which add a beautiful, organic dimensionality.  

In very good condition, wear consistent with age. Full pile with oxidized browns. Handle is soft, pile is low.
