This Bidjar runner was woven in Western Iran at the turn of the 20th century.
It features a simple yet stunning thin diamond lattice on a camel ground. The lattice pattern utilized a brown that has oxidized giving the rug an unintended but wonderful dimensionality as if it was etched in. The ground is woven of various lots of undyed camel wool fields which undulates organically and is quite calming. The main border features pelt-like devices in various browns, reds, green,s and blue flanked by diagonal striped minor borders filled with an "s" like motif.
It very good condition, Durable with some heft to the handle. Browns have oxidized but haven't lost their visual power.
