Uzbek "1968" Rug - 6' x 12'

Regular price $1,250.00 Sale

This vintage rug was handwoven in Uzbekistan and is dated "1968" (pictured).

The plush pile is composed of four eight-pointed stars, outlined by multi-toned latch-hooks on a vibrant red ground. The date, followed by Cyrillic writing of a person's name, is woven into the minor border composed of sawtooth turrets. The main border features diagonal diamonds in white, yellow and various blues. The warp is rendered in an appealing salt and pepper from mixing of handspun light and dark wool.

In excellent condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Pile is thick and shiny, with a solid handle.
