This Baluch rug was handwoven at the Afghan/Iran border during the late 19th century.
It is woven in a simple and straightforward palette of deep reddish-brown, navy, oxidized brown, and ivory. It is composed of multiple columns featuring energetic zig zags. One navy zig-zag near the center is thicker and more prominent giving the piece interest and pizzaz.
In fair condition, with significant wear throughout. No holes and the edges have been reinforced. The pile is low, with a light handle.
