Mid-Century Scandinavian Kilim Designed by Ingegerd Silow - 5'6 x 7'7

Regular price $1,950.00 Sale

Mid-century handwoven Swedish kilim, designed by Ingegerd Silow.

Silow was an important Swedish designer and weaver, active during the mid-20th century, considered by many to be Scandinavia's Golden Age of design. Her designs have become highly collectible over the years.

This particular kilim is composed of a minimal geometric design, woven with marled yarn, which softens the color and gives it depth. The central field is woven in a camel with dotted horizontal lines in chocolate brown breaking up the plain field. The wide border is composed of pixelated shapes like hexagons and rhomboids, on a taupe field. Detail colors include light blue, and light and dark shades of yellow. Signed in the corner with the initials 'IS'.

In excellent condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Flatwoven, with a sturdy handle.
