This Kurdish runner was handwoven during the late 19th century.

The field is composed of two red grounded lozenges filled with a variation on the classic Herati pattern. This is contrasted by the simple yet very deep navy field. There is a date (1306) and the word "Senneh" rendered in farsi to one side of the rug. The years 1306 would translate to 1888 in the Gregorian calendar. The elegance of this design is highlighted by the minimal border composed of rosettes. 

In Very Good condition, with a low pile and a sturdy handle. Signs of wear are consistent with age.
