This Afshar rug was woven in South Iran during the end of the 20th century.
It features classic patterning associated with the Afshar people of Sirjan. In the center are three small ivory medallions on a deep navy field surrounded by a glowing pink field which itself lays upon a final field of cobalt. The classic palette of reds and blues is rendered in a softer more pastel variant here. Small symbols and figures fill the negative space, making this a very visually interesting rug.
In very good condition, with some wear. Low pile with a dense floppy handle.
