This Hamadan rug was handwoven during the second quarter of the twentieth century (1925-1950) in western Iran.
It features a very sharply rendered and symmetrical herati design field on an indigo ground. Scrolling vine work on an ivory ground in both the main border and the cornices brighten the composition. Highlights of yellow and green add interest and energy.
In Good condition with wear throughout but structurally sound. Some fraying to the fringe end.
