This Tabriz rug was handwoven in northwest Iran during the middle of the 20th century.
It features an all-over field in a well-executed Herati design in a harder-to-find squarish size. It has a soft palette of various reds, pinks, blues, greens, terracotta, yellow, and teal and is surrounded by a main border of palmettes in rosettes in a soft seafoam. The wide range of colors whispers rather than screams, softened by their balance and patina.
In very good condition, with minimal wear and a low sturdy pile.
