Sarouk rug from Western Iran, handwoven during the second quarter of the 20th century.
This rug features a curvilinear floral design on a soft raspberry red field. The floral work is intricate and an excellent example of the type of floral sprays Sarouk rugs are known for. It features a central motif that blends into the pattern without dominating the composition. The main border features a palmette and blossom design on an indigo blue ground. This classically patterned rug should last for generations to come.
Very good condition with some wear along the ends (as pictured).
