Shiraz rug was handwoven in South Iran during the third quarter of the 20th century.
This cheerful Shiraz rug features rows of birds in a bright and poppy color palette of orange, yellow, pink, green, navy, and white on a raspberry ground. Every two rows of more abstracted mythological birds alternate with one row of more realistic figural birds. The whole composition is framed by a strong and dynamic orange border.
In good condition with some fraying to the edges on two corners. Medium pile a thick, heavy handle.
