This Torba was handwoven by Tekke Turkmen Turkmenistan during the early 20th Century.
This trapping features a design of eight aina güls in earthy red, browns ivory, and navy. Framed by a multitude of borders that include zigzags, flowers, diamonds, and serrated leaves. A torba is a small storage used to both transport and store belongings that is similar to a chuval but not as deep. Polychrome knotheads remain of what were once long fringes.
