This Derbent rug was woven in the Daghestan region of Southern Russia during the middle of the 20th century. 

It features a bold geometric design in vibrant colors. Bright reds, purples and blues, make up the main color palette, while an uncommon chartreuse acts as an accent color. The design is composed of three central medallions with two half medallions on the top and bottom continuing the design. The wide main border is composed of a classic flowering vine pattern. 

In excellent condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Pile is low and densely woven with a sturdy handle.
