Regular price $750.00 Sale

This antique Agra rug dates from the early 20th century.

A distinct emerald and scarlet border frame a lovely all over ivory field with patterning in shades of blue and pink. The pinkish tones were produced from cochineal, a dye derived from insects. This rug was produced for export when the British ruled India in the area around Agra, home of the famed Taj Mahal.

The rug has even wear throughout, as pictured, and has been reinforced on all four sides to secure it for this generation and the next.
