This Kazak rug was handwoven in the southern Caucasus during the late 19th Century.

A striking design features three navy medallions, on a red ground with a variety of neatly organized protection symbols. But the wide main border composed of large blossoming rosettes on candy cane stems steals the show. In a hard-to-find format for type.

In very good condition with even wear throughout (as pictured).
