This Khamseh rug was handwoven in South Iran during the early 20th century.
It features two connected latch hooked medallions filled with abstracted birds atop a navy of ground chock full of more abstracted birds and rosettes and flanked by two scalloped edges filled with botehs on a rust ground. The whole is nicelhy framed by a bright polychrome border featuring a "ↄc" motif.
In good condition, with some wear to the corners. The pile is low, with an airy but sturdy handle. Nicely finished with candy selevedges.
