Antique Bakshaish Pastel rug naivete

Antique Bakshaish Rug - 4'5 x 5'8

Regular price $3,850.00 Sale

This Bakshaish rug was handwoven during the early 20th century.

It features a central medallion design with an uncommon pastel palette of lavender, lilac teal, yellow, coral, ivory and chocolate. Framed by a main border of abstracted geometric flowers that is flanked by alternating "x" and "o" minor borders. As most Heriz and Bakshaish rugs come in large room sizes, this is a hard-to-find format. With an unusual but very pleasing palette and rendered with the perfect amount of naiveté.

In very good condition with some wear to face and fraying to one end. Medium pile with a dense weave and hefty handle.
