This Seychour runner was handwoven in the Caucasus during the late 19th century.
It features a repeat geometric pattern in rich jewel tones of reds, corals, blues, greens, and yellow with accents of ivory and brown. Nicely framed by a wide main border of three dimensional cabbage roses and finished around the perimeter with a minor "running dog" border. The distinctive running dog border is well documented in Seychour rugs of the Northeast Caucasus where Russia and Azerbaijan meet. In a rare hard-to-find runner size.
In very good condition with areas of old professional repair.
