It features a spectacular all-over field chock full of totemic polygons, rosettes, serrated combs, and various types of animals and protection symbols. Nicely balanced yet yet still with a free flowing rhythm. It features reds, lively blues, sunny yellows, sage, brown and bright ivory on a indigo ground. The whole is framed by a stark white border

This Shekarlu rug was woven at the turn of the 20th century. The Shekarlu are a Lori-speaking tribe of the Qashqa'i Confederacy.

It features a spectacular all-over field chock full of totemic polygons, rosettes, serrated combs, and various types of animals and protection symbols. Nicely balanced yet still with a free flowing rhythm. It features rich reds, lively blues, sunny yellows, sage, brown and bright ivory on a indigo ground. The whole is framed by a stark white border characteristic of the type and which brightens the composition. 

This rug is in very good condition with some wear to the field. The original skirt borders are still intact.
