This Farahan Sarouk rug was finely woven during the first quarter of the 20th century.

It features a navy ground Herati design field with cornices and a central polygon medallion utilizing a red ground Herati pattern. A fun play of pattern and color that is finely woven and well-executed. The main border is a detailed scrolling palmette design with two minor borders of alternating rosettes.

In very good condition with general wear, particularly on one end (as pictured). The pile is low and very densely woven, with a stiff handle. Wool is soft and lustrous.
