This Antique Caucasian Chanteh was constructed in pile weave with a colorful striped flatwoven back. They each feature an ivory Talish rosette on a red ground of little botehs and framed by a red and orange scroll border on a light blue ground.  Each bag face is finished with a lovely top row of colorful concentric squares which are slit open to allow the bag to be tied closed with threads tucked inside.

This small chanteh or small carrying bag was woven in the Caucasus during the middle of the 20th century.

The bagfaces are constructed in pile weave with a colorful striped flatwoven back. They each feature an ivory Talish rosette on a red ground of little botehs and framed by a red and orange scroll border on a light blue ground.  Each bag face is finished with a lovely top row of colorful concentric squares which are slit open to allow the bag to be tied closed with threads tucked inside. The central connecting kilim panel adds some interest with a polychrome >>>> pattern. 

In good condition, with some wear along the selvedges which are constructed of goat hair.
