This kilim was woven in Egypt during the 20th century.
It depicts a pastoral village scene with flame like vegetation, houses, various animals and two figures. One figure holds a water jug atop their head while the other figure holds the reigns of camel in one hand and a stick in the other. Very full of life with even the houses having the appearance of faces. Woven with carded undyed wool in a palette of browns, grays and ivory.
In very good condition. Flatwoven with a dense handle
