This rag rug was woven in the United States during the early 20th century.
It is flat-woven in multiple strips of fabric that were sewn together in blocks. The thin vertical lines of white, red, yellow and blue starkly contrast with broad black stripes generating a striking visual. As with all rag rugs, there is repurposed clothing fabric woven through the entire piece, giving an all-over muted softness.
In great condition considering its age with no holes or tears and light even wear.
