This Serab rug was woven in NW Iran, during the second quarter of the 20th century.
It features a loosely drawn coral lozenge inset on another navy lozenge atop a plain camel field. The lozenges feature blue/green jewel tones and pops of orange with a central rosette surrounded by fish like boteh. Three dainty borders frame this simple yet elegant composition.
In good condition. Edges and sides have been reinforced for longevity and repaired areas are pictured. The pile is low, with a soft handle.
