Heriz rug from Northwest Iran, handwoven during the middle of the 20th century.
This classicly designed Heriz features a geometric central medallion on a dark red field with complementary light and dark blues, golden camels, and golds. An alternating palmette main border frames a prominent central medallion and four ivory ground cornices. As most Heriz rugs come in large room sizes, this is a harder-to-find size, as well as a good rug for high-traffic areas.
In very good condition with some wear to the foundation. Medium pile with a dense weave and hefty handle.
