This Lavar Kerman was handwoven during the third quarter of the 19th century. 

This stunning rug is composed of a curvilinear floral design with six scalloped medallions and is finely woven in golden yellow and wine purple. The design plays with positive and negative space in a sophisticated and subtle manner. The five borders are just as elaborately patterned as the main field, continuing the curvilinear floral motif. They are composed of varied sprigs and meanders and show off the artful use of indigo blue for the details.   

In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with considerable age of the rug. Very finely woven, with low pile, and soft handle.
