This Kazak rug was handwoven in the southern Caucasus during the late 19th Century.

A striking field design features three medallions each with a concentric hook motif in red, blue, yellow, and dark brown on ivory ground. The main border is composed of large alternating scarabs in red, blue, and yellow. A well-composed and visually arresting example of Caucasian weaving.

In very good condition, with very small signs of wear, including one small hole in the border. The pile is flat, with a soft handle.
