This Lavar Kerman rug was handwoven during the late 19th century in Central Iran.
This oversized rug features a central medallion with a curvilinear floral design and scalloped cornices. The cornices are distinct but have a continuous feel with the central medallion. The field features a vast array of blossoming flowers on a patinated flamingo ground. Tones of yellow, golden wheat, chartreuse, coral, and ivory round out the gentle and nuanced palette.
In good condition, for its significant age with areas of wear throughout but structurally sound with some areas being reinforced and professionally repaired. Finely woven with a thin, floppy handle.
