This Moroccan-styled rug was woven during the 21st century in Afghanistan. It features a simple diamond lattice pattern comprised of speckled gold squares on a cobalt ground. The lattice is consistent but with some subtle nuance in it's rhythm and casually breaks apart near the top and bottom of the rendering. Woven of hearty, hand-spun Afghan wool giving it durability and extra heft not commonly found in the Moroccan weaving usually associated with this patterning.
