This Oushak rug was handwoven during the first quarter of the 20th century in Western Anatolia.

This piece may have been intended as a wagireh or sampler rug which illustrates the rug pattern for the weaver. It features a variation of a Bid Majnun or weeping willow design. It is rendered asymmetrically and with the composite motifs at different scales. The pleasing palette includes soft yellow, green, coral, and brown, and wonderful blue-green ground. 

In excellent condition, with very little wear. Plush medium pile with a soft chunky handle. Beautiful on the floor or the wall.
