Antique Caucasian soumak area kilim featuring a variety of intersecting shapes in faded blues, greens, corals, yellow and ivory. The haphazard shapes appear to be an attempt at the famous “dragon” design” which went awry. Three ivory palmettes really pop in the field drawing the eye and brightening the rug. The main border features a pinwheel of four serrated leaves alternating with rosette filled diamonds.
