This stunning Qashqa'i kilim dates from the early 20th century and was woven in Southwest Iran. It features a strong geometric design in bright oranges and yellows, light and dark blues with green and brown accents. Two diamonds bordered by concentric lines of varying widths and colors impart a mesmerizing effect. A red border both surrounds and mimics the field. All encapsulated by a multicolored electric laleh abbasi outer border with a pleasant striped skirt border added to top and bottom for good measure.
Signs of wear consistent with age with recently rewoven holes; original fringe still intact.
