Beshir Turkmen Rug - 5'4 x 7'2

Beshir Turkmen Rug - 5'4 x 7'2

Regular price $1,250.00 Sale

This Beshir Turkmen rug was handwoven during the third quarter of the nineteenth century (1850-1875) along the Amu Darya river in Central Asia.

It features a beautiful all-over design of skeletal rosette like devices in yellow, blue, brown and ivory on a madder red ground. It features a pair of spectacular and wonderfully inconsistent borders that shift motifs both subtlety and dramatically mutiple times throughout the composition. h

In fair condition with much of the pile visibly worn down to the foundation. Still structurally sound and all four sides have been reinforced for longevity.
