This large Kuba rug was handwoven in the Caucasus during the early 20th century. Three columns of large lozenges run across its length of the rug in pattern more often seen in kilims from the region. It features stunning jewel tones in greens, blues, pinks, and ivory that sit atop a gorgeous bright red background. The rug is accentuated by a rare border in light blue depicting a formation of animals lined up around the entire perimeter. Dated "1913" in the field. With a thin pliable pile and in excellent condition for its age.
