This Bakhtiari rug was handwoven in the 1930s in Southern Iran. It features a variation of the classic garden design rendered with flowing curves and hypnotic dimensionality. The detailed floral spread meanders in and out, blurring the lines between the background and the medallions. An array of tones are harmoniously blended created a complex balance . There are a few small tears near the edge due to glue that has been used previously in a repair. Overall the structure and strength of the rug are unaffected. Damage is reflected in the price.
