This Peking Chinese rug was handwoven in Eastern China during the turn of the 20th century.
It features an expansive soft purple ground with two distinct vases. One blue and one white, both flowering and in harmony much like a yin and yang. Indigo blue borders feature further vases and flowering vines which spill over into the field unrestrained by the border. In good condition - with even wear and abrash throughout the pile, consistent with age.
