This hooked rug was handmade during the second quarter of the 20th century (1925-1950) in the Northeast United States. This unique piece was crafted in a large square size in pattern reminiscent of the quilts that are an important part of the cultural tradition of the region. The background is full of color and the foreground a repetitive geometric ivory motif. This eye catching piece features an impressive array of color but is grounded by the calming ivory on top. Wear is consistent with age.
