This Kurdish rug was handwoven during the first quarter of the 20th century (1900-1925) in Northwest Persia. It features a funky orange medallion of squiggly cloudbands flanked by latch hooked diamonds atop dark blue field. Sharp jagged cornices and flowering vines in soft reds and aubergine really accentuate the exceptional medallion. This is a knotted rug with a thin evenly worn low pile. Wear is consistent with age. All Four sides have been reinforced for longevity.
