This dated Khamseh rug was woven in 1918 in Southwest Iran. This rug has a vibrant color palette that has been mellowed perfectly through patination over time. The field features abstracted diamond-shaped flowers while the main border surrounds the field with polychrome rosettes locked arm and arm. A date is inscribed in Farsi on one of the minor borders as "1337" which translates from the Hijri calendar as 1918. In excellent condition with a thick meaty pile.
