This Senneh kilim was woven by Kurds in Western Iran during the early 20th century.
This very finely woven kilim features a calm and satisfying rendition of the classic herati design in reds, pink, yellow, and brown on an ivory ground. The design is composed of an all-over pattern in the classic Herati style. The major border contains simple floral shapes and botehs on a red ground, while the minor borders feature scrolling rosettes. This may be the finest woven Senneh we have handled. So fine that it folds like a sheet.
In excellent condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Flatwoven with a cotton foundation, with an airy handle.
