Sarouk rug from Western Iran, handwoven during the second quarter of the 20th century.
This rug features a curvilinear floral design on a soft raspberry red field. The floral work is intricate and an excellent example of the type of floral sprays Sarouk rugs are known for. The main border features an important scroll and blossom design on an indigo blue ground. This classically patterned rug should last for generations to come.
In excellent condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Pile is low and densely woven, with a very sturdy handle.
