This Meshed rug was woven in Eastern Iran during the second quarter of the 19th century. It features an elaborate central medallion with an expanding curvilinear floral design with various flowering devices in blues, greens, reds, and pinks on a rare gold field. It is framed by a blossoming tulip border. In good condition with wear throughout, but structurally sound and highly durable. The pile is low, the handle is stiff and the edges have been reinforced for longevity.
