Saddlebag from W Iran, from the third quarter of the 20th century.

This double saddlebag or "khorjin" rug was woven during the third quarter of the 20th century in Western Iran. It has a low and dense pile with a flatwoven back of alternating stripes of brown and blue. The closure is composed of slit pile (unusual) and braided loops.This bag-face design has a distinctly "hand-drawn" geometric design with a slight border of diagonal stripes that blends in nicely with the overall vibe. The color palette is limited to browns, oranges, and reds with indigo blue details.

In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age.
