This Bakhtiari rug was woven during the third quarter of the 20th century in south Iran.
It features a classic grid garden design full of flora and fauna including deer, birds, and flowering branches. Of particular note is the central square which wonderfully and unexpectedly showcases a blue hand with pink nails holding a bouquet of fresh cut flowers.
In very good condition with some noticeable areas of cotton from the foundation showing as well as wear along the edges (as pictured). Hard wearing pile with a hefty handle.
