This Bakhtiari rug was handwoven in Southern Iran during the second quarter of the 20th century.
It features an allover design of scrolling vines with blossoming botehs in tones of red, blue, green, coral, ivory, and a spectacular amber yellow that completely steals the show. Framed by the main border of pairs of more so-called "mother-daughter" or 'pregnant" botehs alternating with ivory palmettes on the patinated red ground. Nicely finished with two minor borders of a smaller and simplified boteh motif.
In excellent condition, with minimal wear and perfectly patinated tones throughout. Medium pile, with a heavy handle.
