Khamseh rug was handwoven in South Persia during the first quarter of the 20th century.
It features an all-over design of six interconnected stepped medallions, filled with colorful shapes outlined in a bright ivory tone. The ground is chock filled various rosettes and abstracted floral motifs and the whole is framed with a border that alternates between botehs and star-filled octagons.
In very good condition. Edges have been reinforced for longevity. The pile is low, with a smooth handle.
