This Bidjar was handwoven during the middle of the 20th Century in Northwest Iran.

It features a detailed central medallion with teardrop medallions and four complementary cornices on a herati-patterned ground. Classical Persian patterning has been further developed by midcentury tones with the wonderful addition of burnt oranges, hot pinks, and baby blues. This Bidjar lives up to its reputation as the "Iron Rug of Persia" with dense tightly packed construction which makes for a heavy and hard-wearing rug. 

In very good condition, with some visible but minor wear. The pile is low and dense with a sturdy handle.
