Mid Century Persian Sarouk Fragment

Persian Sarouk Fragment - 4'4 x 5'3

Regular price $375.00 Sale

Sarouk rug woven in Western Iran in the second quarter of the 20th century.

This rug features an intricate curvilinear floral design radiating out from the central bouquet. The field is a lush raspberry color and has been "painted" as well, a typical technique used on Sarouk rugs of the era. Over time the paint fades and gives a soft marbled look to the pile. The piece is a fragment as one end has been shortened and securely finished.

In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age.  Pile is low, handle is very sturdy.
